From Idea to MVP: Five Steps to Validate Your Startup
· Virgile Consulting, LLC
Great ideas fail most often for one reason: nobody tested whether customers truly needed them. A minimum viable product (MVP) lets you learn quickly and invest wisely.
Five steps to validation
- Define the problem in one sentence, from the customer’s point of view.
- Talk to potential customers — at least 15 conversations before building anything.
- Choose the core feature that solves the problem; leave the rest for later.
- Build the simplest version — a landing page, a prototype or a manual service.
- Measure and decide — set success criteria in advance, then persevere, adjust or pivot.
An MVP is not a smaller version of your dream product. It is an experiment designed to reduce risk. Our Product & Project Strategy and Startup services help founders plan MVPs, prioritize features and prepare a confident launch.
