From Idea to MVP: Five Steps to Validate Your Startup

· Virgile Consulting, LLC

Great ideas fail most often for one reason: nobody tested whether customers truly needed them. A minimum viable product (MVP) lets you learn quickly and invest wisely.

Five steps to validation

  1. Define the problem in one sentence, from the customer’s point of view.
  2. Talk to potential customers — at least 15 conversations before building anything.
  3. Choose the core feature that solves the problem; leave the rest for later.
  4. Build the simplest version — a landing page, a prototype or a manual service.
  5. Measure and decide — set success criteria in advance, then persevere, adjust or pivot.

An MVP is not a smaller version of your dream product. It is an experiment designed to reduce risk. Our Product & Project Strategy and Startup services help founders plan MVPs, prioritize features and prepare a confident launch.
